It's that time of the year! We will wrap up the school year with some fun activities such as a field day and a trip to the bowling alley. It's so fun to think about all the progress we have made this school year together as a class!
This year is an especially bittersweet one for me as I take on a new role next year. I recently accepted a third grade teaching position at Adams Elementary for the upcoming school year. While I will miss all my Lakeview students, I am so excited to begin this new chapter in my teaching career. Wishing all my fourth graders the best of luck next year and beyond! Sincerely, Ms. Sexton

We had so much fun making our moms Mother's Day booklets over the last couple of weeks. We wanted to let our moms know how much we appreciate and love them!
Sincerely, Ms. Sexton This week we picked up trash around the Lakeview neighborhood and school grounds to celebrate Student Serve Week! We had fun making our school a clean place!

Before spring break, we had our last field trip of fourth grade. We loved getting to tour the state capitol and the Nebraska History Museum. It was interesting to hear about how the capitol was designed and learn about all the details that went into building it! Did you know that there is a law that bans architects in Lincoln from building anything taller than the capitol building? Pretty neat!
Sincerely, Ms. Sexton When we first arrived at the Durham Museum in Omaha, we heard a performer sing songs about Nebraska, since today was Nebraska's birthday!
Wow! This week sure has flown by. Students didn't have school on Monday due to President's Day and Wednesday we had a snow day! Next week we have a busy week with parent-teacher conferences and a field trip in Omaha.
Sincerely, Ms. Sexton On Thursday, we celebrated Valentine's Day by having a Valentine's themed spelling bee and playing Bingo. We had fun listening to music, dancing, and passing out Valentines!
Sincerely, Ms. Sexton This week we had a mini field trip to the Lied Center to watch the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra perform. Our music teacher, Mrs. Claridge got to join us as well! Because we did so well on our field trip and were good audience members, we got to celebrate with a pajama day this week. I even joined in by wearing my slippers and jammy jams!
Sincerely, Ms. Sexton |
